Island Fun

Richardson's Beach

Known as the best snorkling beach on the Big Island's east coast. If you are lucky you will get to see a Monk Seals or turtles that frequent this area.

Richardson's is great for children and those with limited mobility when it is calm.

Showers, restrooms, picnic tables and  paved pathway to the beach make this a great place for families.
There are several places along the rocky coast to enter the water but the main beach area is smooth and usually calm.
On your way to the beach stop by Keaukaha General Store to pick up some snacks and ice cold beverages or coffee.
Hungry on your way home - treat yourself to the Seaside Restaurant and Aqua Farm or The Ponds Hilo.
Just want shave ice or a snack?  Millie's Deli & Snack Shop will remind you of a classic soda shop!
